Deer Gun Match
Sunday, August 19th, @ 2 pm
This match is open to all guns. It’s intended as a pre-season “shakedown cruise” for the gun you use to hunt deer. The gun you bring ought to be the gun that you used for deer hunting last season or that you intend to use this season – whether it be a lever action rifle, bolt action, some other type of rifle, a slug gun, or a pistol.

Course of Fire from 100 yards: Match 1 – 10 rounds slow fire standing @ SR1 target in 10 minutes; Match 2 – 10 rounds standing to sitting rapid fire @ SR1 target in 60 seconds; Match 3 – 10 rounds standing to prone rapid fire @ SR21 target in 70 seconds; Match 4 – 20 rounds prone slow fire @ MR31 target in 20 minutes.

Sporter Rifle Match Within a Match

Course of Fire from 100 yards with SR1 targets with the same time limits as the Military and Civilian Center-Fire Rifle match: Match 1 – 8 rounds slow fire standing; Match 2 – 4 rounds standing to sitting rapid fire; Match 3 – 4 rounds standing to prone rapid fire; Match 4 – 4 rounds prone slow fire.

Course of Fire @ 100 yards with SR1 targets: Match 1 – 4 rounds slow fire standing [5 minutes]; Match 2 – 4 rounds sitting rapid fire [30 seconds]; Match 3 – 4 rounds from a tree stand slow fire [4 minutes]; Match 4 – 4 rounds sitting slow fire [5 minutes]; Match 5 – 4 rounds standing “snap fire” (at the beep, bring gun stock from hip to shoulder and fire within 4 seconds of the beep… repeat 3 more times).
