General Training Info (NRA Courses)

WHERE ?

Meet at the MCWCC Clubhouse (maps here)

WHO ?

MCWCC members and non-members.
Age 18, minimum. No children, pets, or kibitzers.
NOTE: Responsible 16-17yo chldren of adult members attending a class may also enroll in that class.
Those who decline to sign a waiver of liability or who are not eligible to own a firearm will be excused from the course.

SKILL LEVEL ?

Designed for novices, but useful to anyone looking for basic training.

HOW MUCH ?

Varies. Members pay $10 less than non-members.

WHAT DOES FEE COVER ?

Training materials, donation to MCWCC building fund, instructor time or gas money.

WHO GETS PRIORITY ?

First check first served. Twenty students max.

CANCELLATION ?

Refund if 48-hr notice, otherwise credit for another course.

SHOULD YOU BRING A GUN ?

Yes, if you have one.
UNLOADED! (in your trunk or a locked case while driving)
If you don't have a gun, we'll share, so let us know.
.22 caliber is best for the Basic Pistol & Basic Rifle (target shooting) course. For Personal Protection in the Home, a larger caliber is eventualy going to be needed, but a .22 is okay for the class.
UNLOADED! Leave on the table at the clubhouse entrance.

WHAT ELSE ?

Two boxes of ammo (just one for the First Steps class).
Leave ammo in your car. Do not bring it into the clubhouse.
Eye & ear protection. A few may be availabe if you don’t have ‘em.
Lunch
Weather clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen, bug repellent, etc
If you don’t have something, above, contact us, and we’ll help.

WHAT SHOULD YOU WEAR ?

Comfortable outdoor shoes, hat, layered clothing.
Ladies, wear a T-shirt or something to prevent a hot cartridge case from falling into a sensitive area.

WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED ?

Text materials, targets, refreshments, note-taking materials, and certificate.
